How are you different from ChatGPT or Claude?
ChatGPT and Claude are general-purpose chat interfaces. They’re great for exploration, creativity, and quick answers (we use them too!).
When you want more structure, when you want to maintain the context you’re building up for later work, and when you want to build more robust, multi-step systems, it’s a good time to switch to HumanFirst. We help you test and version prompts, cluster and label your input/output content, and organize your process so you can (efficiently) build and supervise AI systems that reflect how you and your business work.
What about custom GPTs, Claude Projects, or NotebookLM?
Those tools let you build simple assistants tied to specific files or focuses. They’re useful for isolated tasks, but they’re limited when it comes to systems thinking and building; context is locked inside each project, you have limited space to architect your instructions, and you can’t progress past chatting with a knowledge base.

Are you tied to OpenAI?
No. HumanFirst is model-agnostic. You can bring your own model, switch between providers, and experiment with multiple models in parallel. Whether you're using OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or another provider, HumanFirst lets you design prompts, structure context, and evaluate your results without starting back at square one.
Is HumanFirst compatible with MCP frameworks?
Yes. We're excited about MCP and what calling external data sources through templated prompts will unlock. As teams build MCP into their workflows, they’ll need somewhere for those templated prompts to live, and somewhere for the retrieved data to be stored, curated, inspected, and refined. HumanFirst gives you that structured workspace so you can build systems and workflows that go beyond retrieval.
